Santa Monica is partnering with Speridian Technologies to transform its permitting system, streamlining the process for businesses, home renovators, and property owners. The City Council recently approved a $3.8 million, five-year contract with Speridian to implement Clariti’s cutting-edge community development software, which will overhaul the city’s outdated permitting processes.
Over the next 18 months, Speridian will lead the deployment of the new system, designed to manage the entire permitting lifecycle—from application submission to review, fee assessments, and final inspections. This comprehensive system aims to reduce manual workflows, automate approvals, and improve overall efficiency, creating a more user-friendly experience for both applicants and city staff. The platform will integrate seamlessly with Santa Monica’s existing technology infrastructure, providing real-time updates and easy access to permit metrics and dashboards.
The implementation of Clariti’s software, supported by Speridian’s expertise, is a key initiative within Santa Monica’s broader goal of fostering economic growth and modernizing public services. The new system will help attract businesses by simplifying the permit process, enhancing the city’s ability to meet regulatory requirements while improving service delivery. Speridian’s involvement in this initiative underscores its dedication to enabling cities like Santa Monica to modernize, innovate, and improve the community development experience for all stakeholders.
