About the Client
Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority (PRA) is focused on community revitalization, facilitating development and supporting neighborhoods to enable Philadelphia City’s growth, its prosperity and to improving residents’ quality-of-life. PRA has been involved in nearly every major development in the City. They are the agent that gathers land for those developments and, in some cases, be a conduit for funding by underwriting city subsidies for affordable housing.
About the Project
As part of the PRA modernization initiative, the Authority was trying to automate its various business processes, to reduce the time for conducting certifications/ re-certifications, streamline on-site inspections, and facilitate electronic data management to address its compliance requirement for the federal Housing program.
Speridian leveraged its mobility expertise and experience working with Philadelphia Housing Development Corporation (PHDC) to develop a cutting edge mobile solution for PRA. The mobile solution along with a web portal, brought together PRA’s internal users – Inspectors, Compliance Officers & Director, and external users – Management Agency, External Compliance Officers, on a common collaboration platform, increasing efficiency and enhancing the ability to exchange compliance documents.

The solution includes an iPad application for field inspectors and compliance officers, capable of producing and modifying certification forms easily, securing data collection, taking and attaching photographs, maintaining technical specifications of properties, collecting electronic signatures, and location based services. The web portal allows the supervisors to view the completed inspection forms, generate reports and optimized inspection scheduling.
